Hvar island

Smells amazing on this island! Like hot pine and lavender and sage and wind and sea.
We had a great drive-- the scenery is incredible! Woke up early having barely slept (in the car...) and went to jelsa for a cappuccino. The harbor was lovely and the town was very small. We were mostly focused on the caffeine and wifi and bathroom at this point, too sleepy for much else.
It was another gorgeous insanely sunny day. We headed over to Hvar town and spent the rest of the morning reading and subbing ourselves on these rocks by the bay and swimming in the refreshing blue waters! It was so perfect. Our lives are way too good to be true.

Then we has lunch at Giaxia, rates #1 on trip advisor and slightly pricey but my god was it amazing! We ate two baskets of fresh bread and olive oil and split an appetizer of gnocchi stuffed with scampi and prosciutto covered in asparagus creams sauce. (sounds super healthy, I know).
Then we hiked up to the fort in the heat, too some pictures of the AMAZING view (see pics) and wandered around in the fort /old prison

After stopping in lots of little boutiques we got back in the car and drove back to the other end of the island for the ferry to the mainland. It was another lovely drive and we stopped again at a little cove for another swim and at little stands to taste more rakija (grappa) and buy some lavender oil:) mmmm

Then we ferried back and drove to... Wait for it.... Bosnia!
See the next post for deets of our adventures in the BiH (Bosnia i Herzegovina)
